What happens to letters when we *Backspace* them? Are they annihilated? Are they sent to typographical purgatory to await reentry into reality? If we re-type the same letter, are we resurrecting it, or are we just replacing it with a copy–the original doomed forever to wander in a formless, quantum nether-realm?
When I type the same word twice, on accident, I often find myself whispering to my computer, “I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry.” What right do I have to choose which pixels live and which die?
“Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are gods?'” (John 10:33). Some responsibilities are too grave for humankind to bear.
